Addiewell Prison Limited (registered company number SC291454) is a Private Finance Initiative (“PFI”) vehicle whose purpose is to design, construct, finance and manage HMP Addiewell. It has a 25-year operational contract with the Scottish Prison Service (“SPS”) that runs until December 2033. The directors do not expect any change in the nature of the company’s business in the immediate future.
The company’s operations are managed under the supervision of its shareholders and funders and are monitored by key performance indicators in the PFI contract with the SPS and the subcontract with Sodexo Limited who supply the facilities maintenance services throughout the life of the concession. The company does not employ any staff and the directors are appointed by the shareholders.
